Ashford University Donates $10,000 to SDUSD, Children and Youth in Transition

For the fifth year in a row Ashford University donated $10,000 to SDUSD, Children and Youth in Transition (CYT.) All students at Emerson Bandini Elementary were given a fabulous box of grade appropriate school supplies and a brand new backpack. Emerson Bandini was selected by CYT to receive the supplies using the generous donation from Ashford University. Two assemblies were held to present the students with the donations. Dr. Tony Ferrell, Executive Dean for the College of Education at Ashford University spoke to the students as a former alumni of San Diego High School saying, "this is one of my favorite days." He recognized the importance of providing students with materials they need to succeed in elementary school and beyond. Mitzi Merino, Area Superintendent and Council Member David Alvarez handed out supplies to the excited students after they shared their appreciation to Ashford University for choosing the students at Emerson Bandini to receive the school supplies. Ashford University and the Office of Children and Youth in Transition look forward to the continued partnership
