Morse Students Engage in the Design Thinking Process
On April 4th, 200 students from Morse High School gathered in the cafeteria to engage in a day of collaboration, creativity, and design. Students started by learning about the Design Thinking process by redesigning the school lunch experience at Morse. Students gained empathy by interviewing a classmate about their lunch experience, worked collectively to define the problem of their “user” or interviewee, ideated to come up with creative solutions, and then created rapid prototypes that they tested and revised. Learning about this process was one of the various stages in their Spring project, Running on Rays, in which students are working on interdisciplinary teams (Engineering and Physics) to create solar powered cell phone chargers.
