Exciting Time at the Black College Expo

Students from San Diego high schools, as well as other students around the county, participated in the Black College Expo at Bayview Baptist Church on January 29th. Students and families circulated around the room to speak with admission officers from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), with military personnel, as well as community partners. Many students received admissions offers on the spot, most earned scholarships worth thousands, and received cash prizes for participating in the fair. Actor Kel Mitchell and other entertainers provided a dynamic and fun experience for students to speak directly with HBCU admission officers to plan their future. The Counseling & Guidance Department congratulates all the students who earned admission offers and scholarships.
