On Monday, September
25th, students from Pacific Beach Middle School and Mission Bay High School
traveled to the Scripps Aquarium and pier to launch their cross-curricular and
cross-campus project, Ocean XPerience. The project challenges students to learn
about the impact of plastics on the ocean and to spread awareness through the
design of a Virtual Reality experience. This is the first project the team is
taking on as a newly formed Mission Bay Cluster Blue STEM Pathway, which, in
partnership with the Maritime Alliance, strives to connect students to BlueTech
educational, career, and service opportunities. The Pathway will officially
launch as part of the San Diego BlueTech Week November 6-10.
