San Diego History Center Features LGBTQ+ San Diego Story of Struggles & Triumphs

The San Diego History Center is currently featuring the exhibition titled: "LGBTQ+ San Diego: Stories of Struggles and Triumphs" through January 2020.

In conjunction with the LGBTQIA+ Education & Advocacy program and several community organizations, the San Diego History Center is bringing the following themes to life and offering guided tours and educational outreach to SDUSD schools and students.

*Identity – Who we are and how we define ourselves *Persecution *Pioneers who have helped shape our Region’s LGBTQ+ Community *Families we make and choose

All K-12 programs offered at the San Diego History Center are designed as an extension of classroom learning. They are aligned with California State Standards and the Common Core and led by trained docents and professional educators. In addition to the programs listed in our brochure, the Education Department will work with teachers to customize a museum experience to meet the specific needs and interests of a particular class.
