Parasitic worms, zombie snails, vampire bats. Spooky Halloween spirit was infused in every minute of biology classes at Serra High School on Halloween! Students audibly groaned as they watched a fungus take over and kill an ant before using its body as a host. Students used bingo cards to mark down any ecological interactions that they noticed in the video. Was is parasitism? Mutualism? Predation? Competition? Commensalism? Just ask a 9th grader at Serra. But we recommend not asking at meal time!
