What is an International Baccalaureate school?

SDUSD school choice applications are due November 13. When exploring all the wonderful options, you might be wondering, what is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school? SDUSD has 8 IB schools: Birney, Jefferson, McKinley, and Sessions Elementary Schools; Roosevelt and Pacific Beach Middle Schools; and Mission Bay and San Diego High Schools. IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. IB teaches all learners to become inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective.
