SDUSD Kinder teachers tackle STEAM and the Next Generation Science through Project Lead the Way

This week San Diego Unified School District kinder teachers investigated the Next Generation Science Standards Cross Cutting Concepts of Structure and Function at Kearny High School this week. Kinder teachers connected literacy and engineering through Project Lead the Way investigations. Teachers learned how classic stories like Jack and The Beanstalk and The 3 Little Pigs could inspire engineering projects like: building a beanstalk that will support a golden egg and a house that the BIG bad wolf can't blow down. Not only is STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) and Next Generation Science learning informative, it is also fun, and helps to reinforce 21st century skills like collaborative problem solving.
