Start with Hello

The students at Birdrock Elementary in La Jolla started their Tuesday with a "Hello". Katherine Aud, resource teacher from Integrated Youth Services Division along with San Diego Unified Police Sergeant Contreras and Campus Officer Noyes greeted the students as they arrived to school. "To promote a positive school climate, it only takes one hello or one good morning or one smile to get a student's day started off positively," said Miss Aud. Sgt. Contreras added, "It is important for community role models to take time out of their day to greet students as they start their day. I feel sometimes we overlook how a simple hello can positively impact a child's day."
